Holly & Gavin

Gavin and Holly’s wedding was incredibly magical! It began with getting-ready photos set in a historic home surrounded by quiet cornfields and muted pre-spring grass. The vintage vibe of the home created an old-fashioned, homey atmosphere that completely enhanced Holly’s photos while her two sisters helped her into her wedding dress. Not to mention, the lace on her dress and the pearl necklace she wore totally fit the ambience, making Holly look almost like Queen Elizabeth!

The wedding ceremony was held in Lincoln at the couple’s church, Grace Chapel, which had a beautiful sanctuary with a grand alter, traditional wooden pews, and a magnificent stained glass window of Jesus holding wheat. The room was excessively breathtaking, and made the moment where Holly walked down the aisle to a song from Pride and Prejudice, all that more magical. Christ was evidently displayed in their thoughtful ceremony of worship, and it included some laughs as Holly shared with the crowd the state of her broken ankle, where she’d luckily been able to move from crutches to a boot just in time for a wedding day. Talk about a resilient bride!

Gavin and Holly’s love for each other was apparent. His reaction as she walked down the aisle to him was precious, and their celebration of marriage the rest of the evening was dynamic and thrilling. That evening, I got the chance to photograph them during blue hour, revealing the romantic lighting and unmistakable love between them.

It was such an honor that they chose me to photograph their special day—my very first wedding!
